Barton-on-Humber Gundog Club

Welcome to The Barton on Humber Gundog Club website, the on-line resource for our long established and reputable Gundog Society.

The Barton on Humber Gundog Club evolved out of what was formerly the Barton on Humber Wildfowlers Association. For many years the club was known as the Barton on Humber Gundog Retriever Club and catered for retrievers only. In 2005 we obtained permission from the Kennel Club to run two day open qualifying stakes for retrievers and in 2006 we were given novice a/v spaniel trial status and became the Barton on Humber Gundog Club. The club continues to go from strength to strength and, if the demand is there, we will consider applying for novice cocker trials and, in the future, open spaniel qualifying status.

Today, our club’s main aims are as follows:

  • To encourage the breeding of working retrievers and spaniels.
  • To conserve the best type of working dog
  • To promote Field Trials.
  • To encourage the Novice Handler.

We trust that this site will assist you in understanding more about our organisation and will provide you with everything you need to know about our policies, membership and participation in our forthcoming events, as well as results from our previous events.

Should you require any further information then please do not hesitate to contact us and we will do all we can to assist.

Our AGM is to be held on Wednesday 27th March 2024 at The Barrow Sports and Fitness Centre, Manor Farm, Torngarth Lane, Barrow-Upon-Humber, DN19 7AW, to start at 7.00pm. We would appreciate it if you are able to attend.

We thank all our sponsors for their continued support
